LG&E reports 159,000 customers still without power. Duke Power reports 56,000.
All of the schools, universities, seminaries remain closed. The county public schools have just announced they will be closed the rest of the week but expect to be able to reopen on Monday.
Many local organizations are offering free or lowcost meals to those folks who've been without power since Sunday.
Last night on the way to Zombie University I noticed that Breckenridge Lane is blocked off near Shelbyville Road. The reason? A 40-foot tree had snapped in the wind, but it didn't fall. Rather, it was still balanced, precariously, on its trunk. A most unusual sight.
