Two pieces of art for your viewing pleasure. The piece above was part of a big group of Valentines that I found on an ebay auction. It's 4 x 6 inches, and the copyright date is 1907. Also visible in faint pencil marks across the cat's left front leg: mint kitten. And between its back paws: Mew-Mew. He may be a cat but he's got a h*-dog attitude if I ever saw one.The second treasure was 50 cents at a thrift shop sale. It verges on being outsider art but doesn't quite hit that mark. The white highlights in the hand suggest more training or knowledge that normally associated with outsider art. Sure is dramatic. Not so sure it will fit on any of my walls.
