The mystery inside the shell

I liked dissecting things in biology; a frog was the largest animal we took apart. I'm fascinated with how things work, and getting to see inside is revelatory. For instance, looking inside these cicada shells, I can see where Hollywood has found the ideas for some of its classic monsters.
