Plastic bags gone wrong

Click on the photo to see how the squirrels near Beargrass Creek used plastic bags in constructing their nests. One of the reasons plastic bags cause such damage is that they're light and fly on the wind into the trees, where animals who never need to carry things home from the grocery store then use them in new ways.

Huh! So that's why I see plastic bags in trees so often. I knew some flew up on their own, but I didn't think about how squirrels might also be using or ferrying them about. It's a bit awful, isn't it? I'm glad the squirrels can get some use out of our bad habits, anyway.
