Last winter Actor's Theater invited artists to construct rock altars for a rock and roll play being produced. I did two; here are the Supremes, in all their sparkly goodness, with text behind describing how my sister Amy and I would be upstairs at home on Middle Bass Island, Ohio, listening to the radio stations (was it CKLW?)out of Detroit, the world capital of soul music, girl groups, and fine clothing. The altars decorated the stage and after the production were sold, with the artists getting half the proceeds. Rock on, my friends.
